Buying a transportable home is one of the easiest ways to get a building on site, but there are still a few moving parts between choosing your home and getting the keys. While some are handled by our team, others are up to you to organise.

Here’s how the transportable home process works with Ezyline, who takes care of what, and what you can expect along the way.

Choosing Your Ezyline Home and Getting Started

The first step is finding a home that suits your site, lifestyle and budget. A great place to start is by visiting one of our show homes in Mount Maunganui or Feilding to see the homes in person and talk through your options.

Explore our one-, two-, three– and four-bedroom transportable homes, and let us know if you want it built to plan or customised to suit your needs. We’ll work through any selections and changes with you before providing a quote, so you know what’s included before signing your Sales Agreement.

If time is of the essence, you might also want to take a look at our range of transportable homes available now.

Planning, Consents and Preparing Your Site

Before you start building, you’ll need to make sure your chosen home will work on your site. We can help with an initial concept site plan, check access for delivery and recommend trusted professionals for the specialist work you’ll need. We’ll also prepare the working drawings and take care of Building Consents for the home itself.

There are a few things you’ll need to organise separately, including your Geotechnical Assessment and the plans required for your Site Building Consent. We can put you in touch with trusted professionals from our network to help with these stages.

Building, Transporting and Installing Your Home

Once consent is issued, construction can begin at one of our purpose-made manufacturing facilities. You’ll receive weekly progress photos while your home is being built and are welcome to visit and see the progress for yourself.

As the end of our transportable home process approaches, we’ll coordinate a delivery date with you and recommend one of our experienced transporters. They organise the permits and pilots required for the move, then place the foundations and secure your home onsite in line with the foundation plans.

Final Connections, Sign-Off and Moving In

Once your home is onsite, there are a few final jobs for you to organise before moving in. You’ll need a plumber, drainlayer and electrician to connect the home to your services. Depending on your property, there may also be decks, base cladding, driveways, fencing or landscaping to finish. You can use your own local tradespeople or ask us to recommend someone from our network.

It’s worth including these jobs in your budget from the beginning. Our guide to additional transportable home costs explains what else you may need to allow for.
